SBA loans available following spring freeze disaster declaration

The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has opened federal economic injury disaster loans to Upstate businesses and nonprofit organizations following a federal declaration of natural disaster areas last week.

New York’s unemployment rate fell to 7.8 percent in April from 8.2 percent in March, hitting its lowest level since March 2009. That’s according to preliminary figures the New York State Department of Labor released today.
