	OASIS/HealthLink programs open in new site by Eric Reinhardt
	The OASIS/HealthLink Learning Center has moved from ShoppingTown Mall in DeWitt to the former Telergy building, next to the DoubleTree Hotel, off Carrier Circle. The new location gives OASIS/HealthLink 11,000 square feet of programming space, doubling the size of its original space in the mall.

	DiNapoli audit says Medicaid overpaid for dental care by Eric Reinhardt
	New York's Medicaid program paid more than $40 million for excessive dental cleanings and oral examinations over a five-year period ending Aug. 31, 2009. The finding is part an audit New York State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli released today.

	St. Elizabeth Medical Center chooses new CEO by Eric Reinhardt
	St. Elizabeth Medical Center on Friday announced the appointment of Richard Ketcham as its next president and CEO. He'll begin his new job on Sept. 8, the hospital said in a news release. Ketcham most recently served as president and CEO of Brooks Memorial Hospital in Dunkirk in Western New York from 1986 to 2009.

	St. Joseph's purchases assets of IMAST by Eric Reinhardt
	St. Joseph's Hospital of Elmira on Aug. 10 announced an agreement to purchase the assets of Internal Medicine Associates of the Southern Tier (IMAST), also of Elmira. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed. The agreement formalizes a "longstanding medical partnership" between the two Southern Tier health-care providers, St. Joseph's said in a news release.

	MedTech president to co-chair national alliance by Kevin Tampone
	MedTech President Heather Erickson is one of two new co-chairs of the State Medical Technology Alliance, a national network of associations representing medical-device companies. Erickson's co-chair is Joseph Panetta, president and CEO of BIOCOM in Southern California. Syracuse-based MedTech is a trade association representing medical device and technology firms in upstate New York.

	Former Wilber Corp. President and CEO Alfred Whittet on Aug. 27 took the reins as interim president and CEO of the banking company's subsidiary, Wilber National Bank. He temporarily replaces Douglas Gulotty, who departed in early August. Whittet currently also serves as a director and vice chairman of the company and the bank. He served as president and CEO from 1998 until he retired in 2006. Whittet first joined Wilber in 1972.

	Celebrating Washington Station
	Spending on office buildings, which has dropped 47.5 percent since the September 2008 record-spending high, is nearing a 13-year low, according to the Institute for Trend Research. Permits for new-office construction have dropped 26.7 percent just since last December. Office vacancy rates in the second quarter of 2010 increased to 17.4 percent, the 10th consecutive quarterly rise. Construction of office buildings is projected to close 2010 at nearly 32 percent below 2009.
