CNY unemployment rates drop in April

Unemployment rates fell in the Syracuse, Binghamton, and Utica–Rome regions last month, compared to a year ago.

The New York State Labor Department today issued the preliminary local-area unemployment rates for April 2013.

Maffei seeks business-owner input in online survey

SYRACUSE — U.S. Representative Daniel Maffei (D–DeWitt) today announced he is seeking feedback from business owners in Central New York on ways to spur growth and hiring.

Maffei has released a 22-question online survey that includes questions about the challenges business owners face and what they need to grow and create more jobs, Maffei’s office said in a news release.

UnitedHealthcare expands Community Plan service area in New York
